8/14/2011 Stoneham, CO Hailstorm

An unseasonably busy severe weather season continues across the high plains as more severe weather moves through northeast Colorado. Weather Paparazzi Tony Laubach shot this video package near the town of Stoneham, Colorado which is 26 miles north of Ft. Morgan in northeast Colorado.

The video opens up with heavy amounts of hail falling beneath a long-track supercell that developed in southeast Wyoming and moved across Nebraska into Colorado. Various shots of hail falling, accumulating on nearby ground, and several vehicles stopped to wait the hailstorm out. Video package continues with POV driving shot as nearly 60mph winds drive blinding rain across CO-71. Various shots of storm clouds end the package.
