Icy Morning Morning Crashes, Wichita, KS – 2/8/2021


Stuck in the midst of what will be the longest stretch of days below freezing this region will see in decades, a storm system bringing overnight freezing rain that transitioned to snow by mid-morning, leaving behind a mess during the morning commute. Crews worked the roads all night, but despite their best efforts, slick spots sent dozens of cars off the road through the morning commute.

Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect through the afternoon for southern Kansas. This will be an ongoing situation into the evening.
