The High Point fire is burning west of Fort Collins Colorado in the residential areas of Paradise Park, Stove Prairie, and Buckhorn Canyon. Fire was last estimated at 3000 acres and continues to grow rapidly with the high temps and high wind in the area. Local temperature at the filming site was 97 degrees with a 20-25 mph wind from the South West. New evacuations have been ordered for Stove Prairie Road north along County Road 27 to Highway 14, east along Highway 14 to approximately mile marker 111, southeast to Rist Canyon Fire Station 1, then back west to to include Wilderness Ridge Way, Rist Creek Road, Spring Valley Road and County Road 41 and all of the roads that run off of it. 227 notifications (NOT HOMES) were sent for this area. A pre-evacuation alert was issued (5 notifications) for the Buckhorn Road between mile markers 25 and 27. As of this writing six structures have been confirmed lost to the fire. 5 Single Engine Air Tankers (SEAT); 2 Type 1 Helitankers; 2 Type 3 Helicopters; 2-4 Heavy Air Tankers; Air Attack; and Lead Plane are currently attacking the fire with ground crews.
