Multiple views of flooding at Lake Texoma, on the border between southern Oklahoma and north Texas. Many rounds of heavy rainfall have caused flooding in this area, in some places affecting the lake economy and creating dangerous conditions.
Shot Description
0:00-0:14 Rooster Creek Bridge, Kingston, OK. This bridge is closed but surprisingly passable with water over the roadway.
0:14-0:27 Several views at Lake Texoma State Park east of Kingston, OK. The park is effectively closed, with high water covering many of the recreational areas. This is a problem for the local economy, as the park is rendered unusable just before Memorial Day.
0:27-0:47 Alberta Creek Marina, southeast of Kingston, OK. Many roads are flooded, hence the submerged one way sign. Note the power line nearly dipping down to the waters surface.
0:47-1:00 Roads End in McBride, OK. The road is totally covered with flood water, as can be seen by the submerged road signs.
1:00-1:11 Soldier Creek near Kingston, OK. Note the flooded building up to the windows and the nearly submerged charcoal grill.
1:11-1:16 Roosevelt Bridge, the main crossing over Lake Texoma in Marshall County, OK. Water levels are 15-20 feet higher than normal.
1:16-1:26 Submerged infrastructure at Lake Texoma State Park. The distant rooftop is park restrooms, nearly completely underwater.
1:26-1:31 Another view of the Rooster Creek Bridge in Kingston, OK.
1:31-1:39 Submerged boat ramp and high water on light pole at Coney Creek near Kingston, OK.
1:39-1:48 Washed-out recreational area at Taylor’s Island View in Enos, OK. Normally a busy lake area, but obviously quite flooded.
1:48-1:58 The Denison Dam on the OK/TX border near Cartwright, OK. The reservoir release in this area today is over 43,000 cubic feet of water per second, and the lake is more than 18 feet above normal level.
1:58-2:08 The Island, a popular lakeside restaurant and bar near Pottsboro, TX. Water is halfway up the front door. Another example of lake economy taking a hit from the flooding.
2:08-2:13 Another example of a flooded recreational area, near the Highport Marina near Pottsboro, TX.
2:13-2:26 A pickup truck
