B-Roll footage of the start of Hurricane Katrina hitting New Orleans, LA on 8/28/2005. Video as the outer rain bands of Hurricane Katrina start to fall on the city while the East Jefferson Levee District workers rush to build a temporary levee across Airline Highway to protect the International Airport. Footage includes interviews with the Mayor of Kenner and the Levee District President who talk about what they are doing and their fears about the hurricane. Additional footage from downtown New Orleans, LA of the few people still left out partying on Bourbon Street as the rain begins to fall. Video ends with footage from Canal Street as Katrina’s rains fall on the city.
