Just after 6:15 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025, the FAA issued a ground stop at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was closed until around 8 PM due to severe winter weather, including snow and ice. Wind gusts of 35-40 mph were reported during this ground stop, and the light blowing snow reduced visibility to around 1 mile at times. The following video is from MSP Airport during the ground stop and from Apple Valley, Minnesota, showing the harsh conditions caused by strong winds and very light snow, which reduced visibility and created slick conditions.
