Strong thunderstorms pushed into the Denver Colorado metro area shortly after 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Thornton, a northern suburb of Denver, saw heavy rains and strong winds for the better part of 45 minutes. While minor street flooding was sporadic, rush hour traffic was slowed, but minimally impacted.
