A severe thunderstorm developed south of Carbondale late Monday evening and pushed very slowly across Jackson County dumping heavy rains, hail up to golfball size, and strong winds across portions of Carbondale and DeSoto. Intense lightning also occurred with this storm, nearly constant early in its lifecycle.
